Over the last couple of months, we have all seen Facebook get bigger and busier than ever. I’m not going to go into why this is happening, as it’s a whole other matter alone, but what I am going to talk about is false identify.
It was brought to my attention a few weeks ago, that a ‘friend’ of mine had created a fake account on Facebook, and was using this to collect a massive collection of friends, in order to spam them. Now, as n Internet marketer myself, I can see the massive potential this has, but it’s not something I condone at all! We’ve all search for our own name, and most of us have realised that our names are far from unique. This being said, let’s say you create a fake account on Facebook, you are going to need to use a name, now the kind of name you want to choose needs to be one people would be willing to add as friends, and therefore the chances are that this name will not be unique – this means you will be using the name of a real human being falsely. This is not legal at all, and it’s actually not very fair. Ok, I’m not going to go on about this, as it’s a large discussion/debate, and I don’t have time to do that right now.
I decided to look around on Facebook for some interesting people, and this is when I decided to search for the ever well known and beautiful Angelina Jolie. Obviousl, the first thing to catch my eye was her profile at the top of the list – is this really her, or is it someone using her name to spam? Her account is closed, so I could not dive into her profile and stalk away (pity), and the thought of adding her as a friend seemed really lame. Anyway, the second thing which interested me were these names: Angelina Jolie-pitt, Angelina Jolie-Pitt and the likes – these are DEFINITELY fake – even looking at the profile pictures gives it away, unless she’d actually put a stupid picture of herself up ;)
I would actually love to know if this is really her, does Angelina have time to be playing around on Facebook, perhaps she does, she is human after all and we are all addicted, so why wouldn’t she be? What would her list of friends be like, and what applications does she have on her page – perhaps she has the Hot or Not application ;)
Ok fine, I will request a friendship with her, let’s see what happens!

HAHA Nice post, good read. Marketing is so crucial these days though, some people market their products in funny ways….But you do need to get your ideas out there some how!
