I was doing some research online, and came across Stefano’s blog, where he talked about Fring vs Yeigo, and had some interesting things to say..
What are these services? Basically they are voIP services that allow you to make a data connection another cellphone which in turn enables you to ‘call’ that cellphone, provided that the destination cellphone has the said software installed on it. So mommy & daddy have Yeigo installed on their handsets which enables them to talk to each other without running up any voice call costs. This is an especially attractive option now that Vodacom’s internet rates have been cut by 61%.
Yeigo:
Free data calls between Yeigo installed handsets.
Savings on normal calls (Landlines or cell) ‘anywhere’ in the world
Send Cheap SMS messages to ‘any’ destination with cost savings of up to 90%.
“In later releases, you will be able to send free SMS messages to other people also using Yeigo.â€
Rates..
Fring:
Talk and chat totally free over Wi-Fi
Savings on normal calls ‘anywhere’ in the world. (Using SkypeOut or SIP)
Connect to skype and call your skype contacts free.
Rates..

i guess who wrote this forgot the pioneer in the field. the services are the same what truphone runs. i installed truphone several month ago and it is a wonderful product. http://www.truphone.com if you feel like checking it out.
I will definitely take a more detailed look at it, I have heard of it, just have not had the time to have a read. Yeigo is a fantastic system, and there is lots of new information coming out on it soon. I reckon Yeigo is going to dominate the mobile world, but that’s purely my opinion of course!
Thanks for stopping by tru :)
.. things are heating up :P
If truphone is the ‘pioneer’ then why is it still in BETA?
That’s a good question, tru lover, response?
/cough – spam /cough
Haha, lol Jt, no spam on my site bud ;) I’m just curious to hear what tru lover has to say about Truphone..
