It’s such a good feeling to wake up and realise that it’s a Saturday, and I can lie in for a little longer than usual. This past week has been extremely busy, consisting of 12 hour work days, and working into the early hours of the morning on top of that. Although I have been really busy, I must admit that I am so very happy with how things are going, I find myself in a place which makes me smile more often than not, and that was my aim for the year 2007..
My new job is fantastic, waking up in the mornings is a pleasure, the people I work with are young, trendy, determined and very intelligent, and most importantly.. extremely friendly. I have worked harder in this job than any other job I have ever worked before, but it feels good to put this much effort in, and I think that that is one of the main reasons for my happiness – it’s a fantastic feeling to work in a job where you are really happy to put in the extra hours and push yourself to new levels! Not to forget that I have been giving a wicked laptop, which is far more useful than I actually imagined it to be! Go Yeigo!
I am currently working on a few websites for some freelance clients of mine, which are proving to be a little harder than initially expected, and the terms and conditions are changing slightly from the beginning, but I feel that I am still within what time lines I set, so hopefully over the next month, I will be able to juggle all of this correctly, and release some sites, which my clients are over the moon happy about! What I am finding annoying is that almost every day of the week, I log into my email, and find a message from a company asking for a quotation for a website – now this is great and all, but I just don’t have the time to do all of the work, and I still cannot find someone reliable, that I can outsource work too, so these projects are just getting passed onto the next person, and I am not gaining anything from them! I guess this is part and parcel of the whole trade, but I need to find a way to deal with them, rather than just declining my services.
I have been given the task of handling the project management side of my tech thesis, which is a great deal of work. Fortunately, I do have a textbook that I can reference too, and I am so very happy I was not given the programming part, as I couldn’t imagine programming all day at work, then programming my clients websites, and then programming the thesis project! And on top of that, the project is to be coded in ASP.NET, which I refuse to work which – but the irony is that when we did our ASP.NET exam, I didn’t open a single book, attend a single lecture or have a single note, but the night before I took a quick read about ASP, and managed to achieve a 1st for the exam – ironic! lol
Tomorrow is Hannes’ Birthday, and when I spoke with him yesterday, he mentioned going for some drinks this evening. I suggested mBar for some proper sit down drinks, and then perhaps moving on elsewhere afterwards, but I have not heard back from him yet. At this point, time is so precious, so I hope he gets back to me soon, otherwise I am going to have to give it a miss, which is definitely NOT what I want to have to do. My poor social life is taking a dive, but then again, boy oh boy will I have a good social life when my studio is built, and I’m driving a Ferrari, at least then the magor investments will be covered, and I will be able to work a little less ;) Ok, perhaps not the Ferrari, but it looks like I will start building my studio towards the end of Dec 2007, or early Jan 2008, I honestly cannot wait – it’s guna be the most styling pad ever!
Eric Jordan has released his latest mix on NeverRain, called Evolver, which you can download here (Direct Download). I am busy downloading it, so I cannot say whether it is good or not, but I’m yet to hear a mix of his, which I don’t love. Eric – “I am coming at you this month with a journey through sharp progressive house, funky electro, a dash of sparkling trance, and my latest track “One”.”

Right, I think I must be off, I have to put together a project breakdown for a massive system, and I don’t want to leave it for last minute (Monday morning). I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, and perhaps I will bump into some of you this evening!
Don’t forget to enter the competition and win a trip for two to Mauritius!

I’m at work.
I’ve done… maybe 5 sets of orders since 3.
I’m supposed to be here till 11.
I’m miserable. I hate slow days like this.
…Lucky.
Damn babe, sorry to hear that! Well, hopefully you can find something interesting on my blog to read, at least that will kill some of the time.
I’m just about to go to bed, it’s almost 1am here, and my eyes are closing!
This is going to be a long week :(
