Lack of aquarium blogs online, until now!

As a massive tropical fish fanatic, I have surfed the web from east to west and north to south looking for blogs about tropical fish and aquariums in general and have never found a useful one, until now!

Aquarists Online

Aquarists Online is a blog all about saltwater aquarium information and resources. Unfortunately, that doesn’t really touch on tropical fish, but the blog is great and is filled with useful information and guides on keeping an aquarium. There is a great collection on How To Guides, such as:

There is currently a poll running on the website asking users what they would like to read and the most votes go to the Beginner Information category, which is good news. It’s great and all reading about advanced topics, etc. but when it comes to saltwater, it’s extremely important to understand the basics otherwise you are going to lose a great deal of your stock!

I’m hooked on the site already, it’s a perfect resource for me to finally move from extreme interest in tropical fish to saltwater fish!

Thanks for the info. We are getting ready to set up a saltwater tank after many years of not having one and really need some insight!!

    I’m glad I could help :)

    Good luck with the setup!

Awesome – I wonder if they will have any tips for me on setting up a tank of small sharks or firefish?

Will definitely take a proper look at this one, good find dude.

Sharks are not too tricky, it’s basically just getting to grips with the salt water cycle. If you can setup a decent saltwater aquarium, introducing the sharks wouldn’t be too tricky, but I can tell you that it’ll be an expensive venture and very time consuming :)

Of course, not to mention impossible in a flat! This is something I’ve been planning for a long time, for when I have a house – I am going to make a floor to ceiling shark tank that can be accessed via the roof or a panel at the top. I want it to be big, so I can clean it by getting in it.

Hopefully by then I’ll be rich, lol.

Hehe, ye, you best start saving, the cost of recycling that water through a massive sump is going to be pricey! hehe

It’s an awesome idea though, totally go for it!

  7. Annie says:

Rox – don’t forget to factor in the cost of the shark cage for you, ha ha !!!

  8. Chris M says:

    Haha :P~

I’ll be sure to notify Rox of your response :)

  9. Rox says:

Hehehehe – if they’re just little sharks, I’ll forgo the cage and feed them from inside the tank. Imagine what a cool party trick that would be!

Haha, until they decide that a finger would work as the perfect dessert ;)

Got something to say? Go for it!
