These days receiving a monthly adsense cheque is the norm. Receiving money is always a happy moment, but having to head down to the bank is a mission and although I have a whole bunch of Form E’s here so I can do the paper work before heading in, still doesn’t relieve the nonsense our local banks deal.

Each time I cash an adsense cheque, I receive a phone call from the bank, a few days later, stating that something is incorrect. I fill all the forms out correctly, even if it means me doing it at the bank and telling the desk person that last time this and the time before that, each time there seems to be a new problem from their side and it’s just started to become too annoying!
Does anyone use another method of doing this?

Maybe just ask for your bank manager and ask them very nicely if they can just make sure that it goes smoother in the future, and that it is a regular thing and you don’t want to waste your time and theirs everytime you deposit your Adsense cheques.
They are usually very accomadating, depends on the bank and branch though.
I’ve had almost no problems with ABSA West in the past, but Nedbank really sucked!
I’ve got a much better plan!
Send me the cheques, I’ll bank them and then pay you half via EFT.
Simple really!
Where you bank Chris? I’ve never had an issue with any of my Google cheques at ABSA. I’m sure yours are issued by Citibank in Joburg, so I cannot understand what the problem would be?!
I too, pile these cheques up, and only bank them ever so often. Going to the bank sucks.
Arne – I’ve tried many times to arrange a blue print or such, so that the mission would be easier, I just don’t know why it always happens!
SaulK – haha, classic bro, thanks for the offer, but I’m going to pass ;)
JBagley – FNB. I think I’ll let them pile up and pop in to handle them all at the same time and once again stress that I don’t want to receive any phone calls! Don’t get me wrong, they won’t just lie here forever, that’s hard earned money ;)
I also bank with FNB. They are truly the worst bank in history. Adsense checks always takes 2 weeks to clear.
So I moved to Nedbank about 2 months back and they actually cleared my adsense checks immediately.
I was amazed, and the service is awesome!
Ah, good to hear that I’m not the only one having problems. Apart from this adsense issue, I’m more than happy having FNB as my bank of choice though..
Interesting, perhaps it’s time for me to look around at new options!
Thanks for the feedback Phil, how’s things going your side, you’re very quiet lately?
Doesn’t Google use EFT? Think Offshore bank is the future!
I’m not sure, I do recall reading about electronic transfers, but I think there was a large bank charge tied to it..
Being with Nedbank means that I don’t have a problem cashing Adsense checks either. Google also pays in Rands so that’s a bonus, unlike my other Affiliate checks which takes forever to deposit.
I can’t wait for Google to have direct transfers to SA banks. But first I’ve got to get my daily income even close to yours. I’m only averaging less than 10% of yours. There’s hope :-)
Yes, the paying of cheques in rands is a great help, I won’t deny that, but we can’t say that an EFT wouldn’t be grately appreciated :)
Hehe, anything is something and that’s what I kept telling myself when I started out, and slowly but surely it increased over the months – Keep the faith!!!
Thanks for the encouragement. One thing I’m happy about is that my earnings have now stabilised averaging around $1-$3 daily and I’m happy with that. Now my next goal is to get a check from Google every month, instead of every 4 months.
Thanks again and I hope that your income grows from strength to strength :-)
$1-$3 is damn good! No jokes at all, that’s when things started to pick up for me in a big day, before you know it, it’ll move to $3-$5 and then you start seeing an adsense cheque every month and the minute that happens, the motivation will arrive in a big way!
I’ll try and blog a little bit more about my experience and the tricks that I use to acheive the cheques that I do :)
That will be greatly appreciated Chris. Its mainly Adsense I’m using to monetise my site at present so any tips will be greatly appreciated :)
I took a look at your site and see so :) I’ll see what I can do, best bet is to search for ‘adsense’ on iMod or visit http://www.webtrepreneur.co.za which is a site I ran for quite a while about monetizing websites and driving traffic..
You are a wealth of resources Chris, thanks so much for all your help. I’m off to look at Webtrepreneur now.
Will talk again soon
I hope you managed to find something useful over there. I put a huge amount of time into the website and then eventually just have more time to continue as I was unfortunately. I still feel the website has a huge amount of information on it for anyone looking for advice about driving traffic and converting traffic, let me know how the search went :)
Chat to you soon!
I did thanks Chris. Mainly the resources for WordPress. I’ve also got a wordpress blog that wasn’t optimised properly, since I learnt about Drupal and started the long process of learning a new CMS system :-)
The WordPress blog is linked to this response.
I must aslo say that yesterday, 4July was the first day I broke the $5 target, I’m not sure if its our conversation, or anything else, but I’m just happy that’s happened.
My next goal is to see an Adsense check every month, that’s a $3 average per day, and I’m feeling inspired that it will soon.
Thanks again for your inspiration, and especially all the work you’ve one blogging your experiences, its certainly helped in a positive way one of your readers and subscribers.
Chat to you again soon
:-)
Quick question Chris. I notice that your Adsense unit here, on the top right of the page has the Header, “Advert”
Is this in line with Adsense terms of use?
I always thought that you couldn’t draw attention to the ads in that way?
Thanks
I don’t think it’s a problem if you state what they are, the problem might come in if you pushed a user to click them under false pretenses, such as saying.. “Click these to win” or something to that nature..
