I’ve been searching around for a good couch over the past couple of weeks and not only are prices scary, waiting periods are crazy!
I’ve finally found the couch I want (below) – However, I’m ordering it in a deep red suede and not the leather, I’m not really a leather person. I found the couch at Kiek, Century City, and after some fantastic service, I was completely sold.
The upside is an absolutely stylish and correctly made couch with a 15 year warranty, the downside is a cost of R12,000 and a 8 week waiting period. I guess it’s not the end of the world to wait for 8 weeks, based on how gorgeous the couch is, but it’s hard to pay the cash and only receive the goods in 8 weeks.
All in all, I’m completely stoked with the couch though!

Either that or I hope you got a dark colour Chris! In fact, white couch will be a real bugger regardless of the fabric, neutral or dark way better overall.

The agents at Kiek ran me through all the processes of cleaning the couch. And believe me, should a person spill something on it, they should prepare to run miles!

Ohmigod! Niiiiiiiice! Where do you live, I’m moving in! Tho, I do have 3 dogs (soon to be 4) and 1 of them is allowed on couches & beds, the others just slobber on them. So I guess it proberly wouldn’t work out…!
Hehe, living in CPT CBD, the couch is only arriving in 8wks unfortunately, so it’s going to be a pretty long wait :/ I fortunately don’t have dogs, so I don’t have to factor that into the equation of keeping the couch clean, etc. :)
I will post pics of the couch as soon as it’s done and I am going to be getting a coffee table as well, so will post that too :)
Just be careful not to spill anything on it. Stains just love to stay on bright colors ;)
Agreed valu, I’m going for a darker red and have been told how to go about cleaning. So help the person who spills something on it though ;)

Firstly coz you have a super cool couch. Secondly coz you have a place big enough for that super cool couch. Thirdly becoz you live in Cape Town whereas I live in JHB- crime capital, and I used to live in Milnerton and I wanna go back! :( Well, MR. Mills, I hope you have to sit on the floor until it arrives. Hmph!
