I’ve seen a number of different places online talking about this topic, so I wanted to bring it to my readers.
Malema, ANC Youth League President scrapped through matric by the skin of his teeth. At first it was said that the report was fake, however, the Independant Newspapers have established that the results are real.

Doesn’t this scare you?
Talking of politics, governments and the rest, did you see how wide spread the video of Chairperson Nhlanhla Nene falling off his chair on SABC went? BBC, Dlisted and a number of other International places published it – viral video madness!

What’s scary is that all of that even qualifies as “scraped through”…
Oh Crap!
This guy is is barely as qualified as some taxi drivers!
My maid is a qualified nurse!
Maybe Malema can come wash my rims sometime!
@Rory – Agreed!
@HoTsTePPa – Hahhahahahahha, what a laugh!
I’ve just recently returned to South Africa and I’m pretty dismayed at what I see happening here at the moment. I’m a bit concerned that everyone seems to think it’s ok to publish someone else’s personal data, regardless of who it is – I certainly wouldn’t want my matric results displayed for all the country to see!
Nevertheless, I guess he is a public figure and sadly probably a role model for quite a few youngsters (hopefully they won’t aspire to get E’s in their home language!)
Found a cartoon that summed it all up quite nicely on Wonkie – check out http://www.wonkie.com/2008/10/24/julius-malemas-matric-results/ .. enjoy!
@Sizwe – The publishing of personal information happens around the world, if it’s not in a the paper, it’s on TV, if it’s not on the TV, it’s in a magazine or on the radio, or even a blog. Unfortunately that’s how things go, we live in a day and age where people thrive off others mistakes..
Thanks for the cartoon!
What a dumbass. (if we can believe the the results are really authentic).
Hehe, the results are real RogerW..
Well here is a fun fact; according to a certain politics lecturer I know, something like 70% of MP’s are functionally illiterate – gasp! went the entire class in disbelief. But, he pointed out quite wisely – is this not representative of the population?
It may be true but I still don’t like it.
What I find funny, is that based on those stats, you hear about MP’s getting doctorates and things, rofl!
Chris come now, if you’re in the 30% of politicians that are functionally literate surely you deserve an honourary degree AND a mercedes at the very least.
Talita – perhaps you should tell that lecturer that politicians are meant to represent the population in a public forum – that does not mean they should be be representative of them!
@Sizwe: It was an interesting point but I won’t be telling this lecturer much – the same guy put the concept of abortion as murder to a class vote to prove his point then threw up his arms in triumph when most of the student put up their hands in support.
Now put opinion aside and consider that he was lecturing on the legal structure of South Africa and that the very reason that we have rule of law is to prevent mob justice. Not the sort of leader I think should be guiding young minds. It was just a shocking stat.
It is appualling that people like you can ridicule people in such a distorting manner.I seriously find it disturbing.
What makes me wonder is does the bright spark who came up with this even have a matric?
@sim – Forgive my ignorance, but what part of this is appalling? (Please check the spelling!)
You talk about “bright spark who came up with this”. I think that a subtle reminder that the image that is displayed above is legitimate and this is not the work of some talented photoshop user.
When you assume a position of leadership, it is naturally implied that you assume the massive public scrutiny that follows. This sets the tone for transparency and faith building between the leaders and his followers. Honestly though, I would prefer to be led by an intellectual rather than someone of this caliber.
Acquiring results like this requires a special kind of intelligence, that sadly (for you and his other followers) is not conducive toward good leadership attributes.
And staying with the humour, A quick joke: “Julius Malema wont be able to make cabinet!” ;)
DChetty… LOL! Good one! Although I don’t agree with you with regards to the correlation between intelligence and leadership attributes. Many morons get elected to senior public office because the voting public relate to them better. So they DO have the leadership attributes, it’s just a pity that these guys will make moronic leaders. Malema aside, look at Bush as a case in point ;)
@DChetty: Hahahahahaha :-)
we will be unfair to judge malema by the results he attained in matric.A number of factors might have led to this, inter alia: parenting, scarcity of resources etc. malema has improved ever since
Our ANCYL pres is jus plain dumb there is no xcuse 4 such bad results…he should b the 1 setting e.g 2 the youth out there but instead he s done nothing but to reck their brains
I lol’d when i saw this results. The Exam this year was a walk in the park although I study that hard. Even though he “IS” part of the ANCYL,I wonder if he can for higher education. If he does, then that means this country is in a crisis. So this is more about skin color rather than ink on paper >_<”
higher grade C in english is a good symbol.i wonder if cope leadership ever attempted matric.please publish that also
Dat is a confidantial matter, that person who shows malema ‘s result, must show his result too, to prove how good he is.
Damn!he’s a natural.
Lol
haha! thought as much dat Malema is the dumiest judging by the way he talks the man has no respect at at all! he must go back to hes mommy 4 manners lessons……
Ay you’re so stubborn man ,even on results
@Cbo – What do you mean?
politic is a war….Result mean nothing Malema is a reach man even he did not passed his matric.Malema was born as a politician, a real politician.
Clearly an avid juju supporter…
“did not passed his matric”
touche.
yes, he did n`t passed his matric but see how succesful are.most of the parlimentary members are not so educated but they occupied high post, just bcos Malema when he talks he looks like a blasting explosive without a timming.this things of Malema is just politic essue.
@miklo – Please define success for me will you? It will give me a better understanding as to why you say, “see how succesful are.most of the parliamentary members”..
Malema is a rich man, without passing matric.Ha ha haaa. You must be born as a politician not a fake politician.I m not saying this bcos Malema is a black-man, no, no, no.But you must understand what you are saying.politic is like a game. Today you win and tomorrow you loose.
What frightens me are those Maths marks.
12 marks for standard grade Maths. From my memory that mark would represent 12 out of 300 or 4%. Here we have someone who is telling the youth and the rest of the country how we must apportion South Africa’s wealth when clearly he hasn’t got even a basic grasp of numbers. Those 12 marks could have been the multiple choice section of the paper, eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
Furthermore give credit where due, his English marks are OK and he obviously has some talent in that department which comes out in his ability for public speaking. The only problem is the content of that talking, mostly drivel. So while the man can talk he should never be allowed to tell us how to apportion our wealth in this country.
lets praise lord bcos we have an educated nation, but on other side we must know that some people at the parliment, they cannot even operate a computer just only they can stand for their political party.
Please guyz leave Mr Malema alone. We as a ANCYL We selected Malema to stead for our youth rights & He is 100% qualified for his job, never mind with his grade 12 certificate if it was for better education you should have been applied for president of ANCYL everyone has a right to VOTE and to be ANYTHING here in this democratic country educated or uneducated.VIVA MALEMA VIVA.But please dont forget that you dont own this country,AND i know forsure THAT you love WHITE people.
Leave malema’s matric results, he is more successfull than 50% of educated people in S.A.
@Dimakatso – I’m curious, in light of your comment, how would you define successful (that’s with one “l” by the way)..
no wonder he is behaving like this, his result wont qualify eve at FET;s its too bad for him compared to what he is saying to other people mayb it would be nice for him to go and improve his matric result
Every one can say what ever he/she intend to say truely speaking Sello can be our next president some of yours `ll be explode like a bomb ha haaaaa….menwana ho Malema pezulu.
Leaders and born leaders. What is matric u think its a standard measure of brains. No wonder why uneducated people are more successful coz they take any risk while you are busy looking at your degrees. Money first education later that is if it is important. 90% of people who want to learn so hard its all about good jobs and MONEY so if u can have that money why going to school
Go to school so you don’t sound like a retard on the internet when you reply to a blog post that’s 3 years old…
@ Ngugi Wathiong, you are right, my brother.Education is nothing especially when u r millioner.money first education last and stay at home for more than you di n`t want. They said bad things about Malema just only bcos he is a black man.
i like what is going on with malema coz u see the guy has lot of money nd is fluent atleast wd english so he can easily communicate wd everybody around.so wt can he go to school 4?ridiculous lmao
well i hope u guys leave malema’s results alone hey the guy is already succesful tht is jst a waste of time yeah
Thank you for your opinion Thabo, it has been noted.
He is the man,of the moment.Just give him a chance with those results. Why do we talk about him now? Some people are holding high post without matric.
As sy punte so lyk hoe lyk, die res van die regering sin nie???
@Chris M ,rubbish is what u’re covered in your trouser.
@PRINCE – Please explain what you mean?
