This increbly innovative “invention” helps solve the problem of tangled headphone wires. The Holeder Earphone concept was designed by Yoonsang Kim, who comes from South Korea.

Tell me you’re not impressed!

Looks very fashionable..
So what’s the price of it in SA Like?
Nice find Chris. I R being very impressed!
This is a really swanky design and Yoonsang Kim has solved 2 problems, namely the tangle and the dangle.
Very nifty thinking…
I love it!
I would definitely buy these
@Casper – I took a look online for a local distributor, but unfortunately can’t find one yet :/
Shipping things to SA really busts my nuts, it’s normaly pricey and stuff takes forever to arrive.
It’s painful waiting 6-8 weeks for a delivery of something kick-butt that you’ve bought online.
Ye, the items are normally decently priced, but once you import them, they cost an arm and a leg. I remember wanting to order something from ThinkGeek and by the time I added shipping on, it was literally double the price.
And, as you say, the waiting period is silly!
I’m not impressed.
How are they going to produce sound?
the design, from a purely aesthetic point of view, is pretty neat, but the problem you’ll probably find is that speaker technology that would work well with that system is not widely available today.
Mind you, the new flat-panel speakers (like 2 mm thick and any planar dimensions you want [i think]) could change all that.
In future I recommend you take a look at what is both aesthetically AND mechanically possible before posting on the internet, just so that you don’t get flamed by god-damn internet trolls who have no idea what constructive criticism is.
that means you, Iria.
UNCOMFORTABLE! man, those would be uncomfortable.
Hate to break it to you, everyone, but these are just a concept. That’s not saying they won’t be made eventually, but they are simply an idea for the time being. The first images is a real model with computer generated headphones, the last two are just computer generated scenes. Notice how they’re labeled “Philips”? Philips has no such headphone, just a subtle hint of authenticity by the designer.
Excellent concept though, I would love to see these become a reality!
I’d still get them tangled. I’m talented like that.
Shame Becca! I’m sure you’d manage! :)
Sony has an headphone model which has clips on top of the headphones, making posible to use them whith the same purpose as this ones. Those cost me ’bout ten dollars.
Yes. I need these. Then I’ll stop losing them….maybe. <.<
Nice design and i like the fact that you could hang them around your neck when not being used but it seems like everyone around you would be able to hear what you’re listening to as there’s no backing like normal headphones, they also look uncomfortable as hell
They look very, very cool but uncomfortable and i don’t think you would be able to get such great sound out of them.
Does anyone care to consider the feedback the author has given to your comments? He should be applauded for his generosity.
Glad to be able to help Nick :)
really don’t mind the tangled wires,or how a pair of headphones look. What matters most to me is sound quality. When I put my headphones on,and slip into my personal little world all that matters is the music.Trendy headphones be they cheap,or expensive, quickly induce listner fatigue.Totally ruining my escape from the mundane world. My life has a soundtrack, and it has to sound the best it possibly can.No exceptions. So my headphones have to sound awsome, period.
Kyle (June 3rd,@6:58am)…
Where do you see the”Philips’ logo.Unless you mean because they are “P” shaped.I see nothing other than the L,and R (left and right),markings on this pair of headphones.Am I missing something in the photos ?
The “Philips” Is written on the darker part of the left headphone in the second picture… I would love to hear what a pair like these would sound like if they ever come on the market.
Meade – If you look in the second photo, it is imprinted in the black section of the left headphone.
About sound quality – I’m sure these are around average sounding.. They won’t be sennheiser quality, but with every 12-yr old being able to get an iPod, I’m not sure sound quality is going to even be an issue. The design is wicked, and if they produce high quality sound, they will be expensive.
Of course these can still tangle! There’s a headphone on one cord, and a headphone on a separate cord. Anyone who has shoelaces knows these are just as prone to tangling as a pair of functional in-ear headphones that could actually produce high-fidelity audio.
They still do look rockin’, but the form doesn’t allow for efficient function.
It’s so soooound.
Monster Cable already solved the problem of tangled headphone cables. The Beats by Dre and Heartbeats by Lady GaGa headphones feature a flat cable (instead of the traditional rounded kind) that doesn’t tangle.

They’re expensive, sadly, but I’m sure that more companies will manufacture this type of cable soon.
Very cool @Robert, this is the first time I’m hearing about flat cables! Thank you for sharing :)
I think I need these!
great, now there is one more thing that can hook the rest of the cable as i pull these out of my pocket.
