Lenovo S10 IdeaPad

I tell you, most of us geeks own a desktop, probably with dual screens and tons of memory, as well as a notebook and a fancy mobile, but it never stops, there’s always something more to get, isn’t there?

netBooks are incredibly popular at the moment and my reasoning behind it is simple – a laptop is too big to really be moved around and a mobile device is too small to work on applications.

That said, over the past few weeks I’ve been looking into getting myself a netBook, more specifically one of the Asus Eee PC’s, which retail for between R2000-R2500 for the cheaper 4GB ones. Anyway, today I got the best news ever and that’s that The Forge will be providing me with a budget to get myself a lovely little netBook – wooohooo!

This got me looking around a little more and that’s when I discovered the Lenovo IdeaPad S10. This powerful little device is the perfect travel device, which boasts 1.6GHz of CPU power, 160GB of HDD space and a GB of RAM, perfect if you ask me! My Father bought one yesterday, ironically, so this evening I took it for a spin and I’m quite impressed – it’s running Windows XP, not a linux distro.

They’re quite sexy as well, take a peak at this red one..

Pretty cool hey? Here’s a video if you’re keen to know more..

Well, that’s how far I’ve got in my search, cow_grrrl has a MSI wind u100, which is also pretty neato!

What do you all think?
