Making money online is a huge topic, one which gets searched for hundreds of thousands of times every day and there’s so little information out there, which will actually show you really how to do it. Because of this, I’m going to give you an example you can start using today!
TrafficSynergy currently has Macro as one of their clients, which means that as a publisher you can place Macro adverts on your website, blog, etc. and start earning $0.19 per click.
This is what I did and it’s working already..
1. Create a TrafficSynergy account by clicking here.
2. Get your Macro link from the TrafficSynergy system, it would be something like this.. http://affiliates.trafficsynergy.com/z/1040349/CD2731/ – This is the link people click on and you earn $0.19 per click
3. Open up Facebook and create an advert – Now, the trick here is to make sure that you’re paying less than $0.19 per click
Don’t understand? Well, it’s quite simple, you’re placing an advert on Facebook and offering $0.10 per click and each time someone clicks on the advert, TrafficSynergy is paying you $0.19, meaning that you’re making a pure profit of $0.09 per click. Now, it’s not a lot of money, but if you get a lot of clicks, it’ll build up! You can advertise to over a million South Africans, without incurring a single cost – in fact, it’s impossible to lose money doing this.
Here’s what my advert looks like..

If you don’t quite understand, please leave a comment and I’ll help you understand.

Very cool, I didn’t know the Makro campaign was PPC. I’ve done a lot of affiliate advertising for other SA sites on Facebook, and it’s worked very well. However, it is a little more difficult than this to make a profit (the other sites are commision on actual sales). I don’t think it’s possible to make affiliate income easier than this.
Yup, PPC indeed. The next step is to monitor and refine it, to see what sort of income can be generated from such a process. I have successfully launched campaigns like this in the past and they’ve done fairly well, but this time I’ve given the secrets away, so we’ll have to see.
Thus far, I’ve seen 5 clicks, so that is a couple bucks profit..
Clever ;) Something I’ll probably try out soon.
Just 1 concern: Don’t these advertisers require you to use their creatives? I can’t imagine many of them would be OK with affiliates taking their links “out of context” (so to speak).
Or is that just me being paranoid?
Yes, indeed. They offer text links as well as brand identity, so using those 2 items with the adverts on Facebook would be required, so as long as the point is communicated correctly, there shouldn’t be a problem..
Ah Chris, I’ve seen the Makro ad on my facebook page and never thought its your creation, clever move.
Thanks Muzi – Chances are that it’s not mine, there are probably several people doing this now :)
One thing you must watch out for though is to make sure to end your facebook campaign when the traffic synergy clicks are finished. The advertisers on traffic synergy on pay for say 5346 clicks in Macro’s case, so when that clicks is used up people could still be able to click your facebook ad resulting in click you have to pay for not funded by jou traffic synergy account.
Gerhard – Good one mate, you’re spot on. I usually run my campaigns with a two day threshold and increase as it goes along, as it’s impossible to monitor when the campaign is going to end. I also make sure that I watch what budget I assign to the “daily limit”, just for safety sake.
All the ads listed on their click campaigns summary say no PPC next to them. Surely this violates their terms? Or have I missed the boat completely and am looking in a different place?
Darryl, are you referring to TrafficSynergy’s website?
Hi Chris,
Yeah, where you get the list of all click campaigns in a tabulated form there is a column showing some info about the campaign and they all say “no PPC”.
That’s odd, I know for a fact that the Macro Campaign is PPC – Have you applied for PPC inside your account?
Definitely have applied. Maybe it’s just a case of human error or something.
Ya, must be hey..
Hi Guys
Great to see such debate regarding a TrafficSynergy campaign.
I just want to clear up some issues.
1) The campaign rules say “No PPC”, referring to no pay per click on search engines e.g. Adwords, due to rules we would have to put in place and monitor in adcopy , urls etc.
It is however a CPC campaign, i.e. cost per click to the merchant and therefore you earn per click. They are 2 different concepts in have to be read in context.
2) Facebook ads are allowed as even though you may be bidding, they are still banner ads to the end user. As Chris rightly said above, it’s fine as long as you are not distorting the message of the merchant or incentivising the clicks or misrepresenting the message of the banner.
Please Note: The Makro campaign will be ending at the end of today(8th) regardless of the amount of budget left. An email will be going out later today to all affiliates running the campaign to inform them.
Hi Gavin,
Thanks so much for popping in and sharing this information with us, there’s nothing better than getting it right from the source! Oh, and big up for the heads up on the campaign ending :)
