I received an email earlier to update me on Nokia’s movements in the African space as well as the application development space.
As most of you know, Nokia has an OVI Store which is similiar to Apple’s AppStore, where Nokia users can download/purchase applications to use on their mobile devices. In order to get their OVI Store up to scratch, they’re looking for application developers who are interested in winning their share of $125,000 cash!
They have opened up submissions and are going to be accepting submissions until 15 November 2009, so you’ve got a month to put something together if you’re interested!
Check these prizes out:
- Grand Prize winner: $85,000 USD in cash; premium placement featuring the winning application on the top page of Nokia’s newly announced Ovi Store , where consumers will find the best mobile applications and content for their Nokia devices; and paid travel to demo the winning application at a Nokia-specified event.
- 2nd – 5th Place: $10,000 USD each in cash; premium placement featuring the winning application on a relevant category page in Nokia’s newly announced Ovi Store, where consumers will find the best mobile applications and content for their Nokia devices.
