Each week, Michael reviews a bottle of wine here on iMod and it seems to be very popular. I’ve got some exciting news, but first let’s look at this week’s wine review:
Leopard’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc 2009:
The price: expect to pay somewhere in the mid R30s
First Impression: Tropical grapefruit.
The Story: Leopard’s Leap started off a couple of years ago as a small production brand. Now it is flying off the shelves here and overseas. Big Big South African brand now.
The Taste: Fruity – of the tropical kind, nice crunchy ripe green melon and grapefruit. Fresh New World style of Sauvignon.
Did You Know? Leopard’s Leap is owned by Hannelie Rupert-Koegelenberg & Hein Koegelenberg, owners of La Motte and part owners of Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons with the famous French Rothschild wine family.
The small print: Grapes from Villiersdorp [nice cool climate] and Durbanville. Extended lees contact to build middle palate flavour. 13.5% alcohol.
Sounds like a good bottle for the hot holiday season!
Right, so now let’s look at the exciting news – Michael’s launching his book this week in JHB and DBN! Here’s what the stunning book looks like:
