This is going to be truly interesting, Julius Malema has started his own WordPress blog, well at least he’s hired someone to start it ;)
I sat one night looking at juliusmalema.co.za and wondering whether I dare register the domain, I tell you, it was so damn tempting, but probably a good thing that I didn’t.
Anyway, he’s definitely not my favourite person in the world, and I will watch his website with interest to see whether he manages to capture an online audience whilst he goes on this journey – I certainly hope that he writes his own posts, seeing that the site states, “Views expressed here are mine and mine alone and not those of the ANC, ANCYL or SA Gov.”!
I don’t have too much more to say, other than offer a piece of advice and that would be to move his Analytics tracking code to the footer of his site, rather than the header ;)
What do all of you think, reckon he’ll crack the blogging scene?

I like you subtle expression of criticism by giving an advise on page loading speed (-:
My name is not to be negative towards him – I don’t agree with some of his moves and decisions, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt at least..
With my journalist cap on my mouth waters in anticipation…
This is bound to be entertaining. Just seen he has just joined Twitter… We will get the action as it happens… Can’t wait!
Well this can only be interesting. And it can be very good for all of us because he has plenty of influence – he will draw many more youngsters into blogging; also if he gets hooked, he will also feel all the frustrations that all of us do – slow speed; expensive broadband etc. And one thing about Com Malema – he doesn’t keep his mouth shut about things that bug him.
His opinions – well sure they’re his and he is entitled to them and the www is a great place to debate them.
It looks like he’s not entirely new to blogging:

Still, God knows he could use some positive spin round about now.

*cough* Asynchronous Tracking *cough*
That’s a good point Damien, ironically, the GA code has now been moved to the footer of the website ;)
In terms of SEO though, it’s better to have the tracking code at the footer, but hell, I’m no SEO GURU ;)
I dont know, something smells. The whois info on the domain looks faked.
Lol, ye mate, I rate @coda is doing it :P~
@Chris: Better for SEO? Interesting, what’s the difference?
@Chris: Julius can’t afford me. Oh, wait… nevermind.
Well, this is naturally just my opinion of course, but when I do any on-site SEO, I ensure that the “header” area of the source code is as clear and clean as possible, things like stats trackers bloat that area and are best placed in the “footer” area of the website.
What you think?
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!
I await in eager anticipation. This Mexican Horse Thief is going to have some fun. :}
Come on people, it’s SO obviously a hoax, just like his alleged Twitter feed…the real Julius would never make self-disparaging remarks about his woodworking abilities, or pander to the snipings of journalists. Get real!
I don’t know why this stooge is getting ink in the blogosphere too.
Are we running out of “stuff” to blog about?
Why are you so hard on him?
I don’t think it’s a matter of just being hard on him, it’s more about creating challenge for him ;)
