Could someone please tell me, in laymans language (dont know much about computers) and in baby step by step information how I can find out, daily, how many gigs I have used so that I dont run out by the end of the month.

Have phoned Telekom, was given some steps (which I have now forgotten) where I found a page with some blue bars... that did not make any sense to me. And there was no one to explain them
Help help.

@Chris.....

Hi,

This question may have been asked before but I need to get some clarity....
I have a line rental from Telkom and ADSL uncapped from Afrihost. I use the Telkom line for my internet connection only and don't have a phone connected to this. So every month Telkom bills me +/-R350 fro this line rental and then I pay Afrihost R197 for their uncapped ADSL line of 384Kb/s (@Afrihost - which I am pleased with). I can't understand why Telkom says I'm supposed to pay R350 just for line rental and some other stuff. What should I be paying Telkom if I don't use the line for phone calls. I pay Afrihost for the ADSL uncapped so am I paying this twice.......

Maybe someone can give me clarity on this....

Thanks,
Keith

@ Chris M - Very interesting and educational site although a lot of it is still beyond me!

What is the correlation between Telkom ADSL line speed and line speeds of ADSL products offered by ISP's?

I have Telkom's ADSL Fastest line (4096Kb/s) with MWEB's 3GB capped (384Kb/s). Is this a mismatch? For optimum results should I have MWEB's 4096Kb/s?

Well, if I did put it that way round, I would have used the adverb "seriously" not the adjective "serious".

Enough of this now!!!

@Ian
Don't you mean:
"I don't take comments serious that seem to have been written by a 7 year old"?

Karma...it's a bitch *just saying* :)

Wernich,
My point is that I do not take seriously comments that seem to have been written by a 7 year old.

@Ian, you make an irrelevant point and is completely off topic. I’m sure somewhere there’s a forum dedicated to spelling that you could check out.

My experience with Openweb has improved a great deal again. I suspect they had some bandwidth issues or lack thereof rather for a couple of months. All seems well with them again.
