Introducing the iPhone 4

The all new iPhone 4 has been released!

People have been dreaming about video calling for decades. iPhone 4 makes it a reality. With just a tap, you can wave hello to your kids, share a smile from across the globe, or watch your best friend laugh at your stories – iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. And it works right out of the box. No other phone makes staying in touch this much fun.

The Retina display on iPhone 4 is the sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever, with four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models. In fact, the pixel density is so high that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels. Which makes text amazingly crisp and images stunningly sharp.

iPhone 4 introduces a whole new way of multitasking. Now you can run your favorite third-party apps – and switch between them instantly – without slowing down the performance of the foreground app or draining the battery unnecessarily. This smarter approach to multitasking is available only on iPhone.

Shoot your own movies in high definition. Capture impressive video even in low-light settings, thanks to the advanced backside illumination sensor and built-in LED light. Then edit and create your own mini-masterpiece right on iPhone 4 using the new iMovie app – with Apple-designed themes, titles, and transitions. It’s coming soon to the App Store for $4.99.

Take beautiful, detailed photos with the new 5-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash. The advanced backside illumination sensor captures great pictures even in low light. And the new front-facing camera makes it easy to take self-portraits.

FanBoi! I cannot WAIT TO GET MINE!

  2. Chris M says:

Lol, looks like a rad device indeed. I’ve had my 3GS for a while and I’d dig to get the iPhone 4, guess I need to wait and see what the cost is once it hits South Africa =\

  3. Any guess when this might hit SA? What was the last delay between US launch and SA launch for the iPhone 3GS?

  4. Chris M says:

I actually have no idea, but I’d imagine it’ll still be quite a wait, unless Vodacom can pull off something amazing. It’s not so much how long it’ll take, it’s what crazy price we’ll be expected to pay. If it were $199, I’d head out and buy one tomorrow!

  5. DarkHelmet says:

If I recall it was to launch in 28 countries soon ™, good guess we are in the top 28, but when is the answer. Soonest I would be eggstatic with August, latest February 2011… If it is not here by end July from locals I am importing one.

  6. DarkHelmet says:

The $199 is with a 2 year contract with AT&T, I do not want no contract phone! (Sounds like a song,….)

If not mistaken the $199 is for the now defunct 3GS… or is the 3GS now $99 on a 2 year contract?

Another drawback of the iPhone is that it is only 7.2Mbps where Vodascum, MTNot and Cell-can’t-C is rolling out 14.4 – 22.1Mbps networks, the iPhone is behind the connectivity we have in ZA, yet – what is the gaurantee that you will get 7.2Mbps on cell-not-c’s 22.1Mbps network?

They are still battling to get decent 3G in the US, this is to apple’s advantage, their networks REALLY suck compared to the tech on ours. Ours however suck just as much when it comes to performance and throughput.

  7. DarkHelmet says:

    3GS – 8GB – $99
    4 – 16GB – $199
    4 – 32GB – $299

  8. Chris M says:

    Ye, scrap the contract!

  9. Chris M says:

The only problem for South Africa, is that it’ll be 4-5x that price when it gets here =\

Got something to say? Go for it!
