On Saturday, Fe and I ventured out to Franschoek to a place called La Ferme, it’s a stunning trout farm which offers all sorts of other activities, and accommodation. You can read more about it here though, as I’d rather share some photographs:

Wow, That place looks AWESOME!!!
Looks like the ideal getaway! expensive?
Looks like a amazing getaway place :) Btw, how did the fishing go there? ;)
I gota tell you guys, it’s one of the most lovely places I’ve been to in a while. Not overly expensive, yet very well looked after.
The fishing went well, we arrived on Saturday in the afternoon and the wind was really bad, so I struggled for most of the afternoon as I’m still a beginner, so casting in the wind isn’t ideal. However, the next day I got up in the morning and caught a lovely trout, as pictured in the article, and then I caught another one a couple hours later after breakfast. So all in all, I caught 2 in an hour or so if you don’t count the afternoon before :) Another guy pulled out 10 the day before though, so there’s plenty.
@William – Thatch Cottage sleeps 2 upstairs in the bed and then there’s a pull out couch, so technically can sleep 3 or 4. The cost is R850 for the cottage per night, fishing included. So, it’s not cheap, per say, but it’s not expensive compared to most other places :)
You lucky bast***!
That looks so awesome. I’m going up there soon for sure!
I’d highly recommend it Bm – You can also pull through for the day and pay R100 to fish, which is rare, because most places force you to take accommodation too, which has been the problem I’ve run into continually.
For someone experienced with fly fishing, I think you could pull out a number of fish, including some big ones. The one I caught it small, I saw some double that size swimming in the water literally 2m away from me – I tried to cast the fly close to them, but it was my lack of experience that stopped me from catching them.
