Web Africa have announced that over this weekend a number of 4MB lines are going to be upgraded to 10MB and they’ll be supporting these new lines and offering line speeds up to 10MB.
Web Africa will upgrade their users free of charge, so if you’re a 4MB user, you’ll be blessed with a 10MB account absolutely free. If you’re not on a 4MB line and would like to upgrade to 10MB, you casn simply click here.
We’ve all been chatting about this for a while now, to a point where I thought it might never happen. When a Telkom field agent told me about them rolling out the new lines, I realised that it would only be a few days until someone broke the story, and here it is!
10MB lines, hello speed!

I really hope MWeb aren’t far behind them…
AWESOME!!
Hell ye, if I click over to 10MB, I’ll be as happy as a fat kid with cake! ;)
Just saw your tweet, how do we know if 10mbps is enabled in our area?
Easiest way is to log into your router and just look for the up stream and down stream speeds, that will state whether your lines have been upgraded or not. You can also go to speedtest.net and test your line speed..
Oh the joys! My life is almost complete. Just need an uncapped account with this speed! Zoooom!
An uncapped account that isn’t part of an uncapped package, that’s what you want ;)
Yea I just want a data package that can handle speeds of 10Mb, is uncapped, and doesn’t cost me a limb every month! Is that too much to ask for!?
Hehe, fully! We’re moving forwards at least, unlike several years ago, so let’s remain optimistic :)
I’m guessing my exchange isn’t nice and shiny because i’m still on pillock 4meg :(
@Shane – Upgraded yet?
Sadly, no :/
Damn!
