New Google Calendar Favicon

So if you’re into SEO you’ll know that a favicon plays a small role. If you’re a designer, you’ll know that a favicon is important. If you’re a brand manager, you’ll know that a favicon is essential.

Anyway, I just noticed that Google’s rolled out a new Favicon for Google Calendar, and no doubt we’ll see other ones in the not too distant future. Take a peak:

I prefer this one to the white one, but it’s not there anymore!

@Max – Agreed, I noticed that it’s gone again, bloody tease is Google! ;)

I noticed this too, did a quick search and found your blog post!

I kinda like it. It fits in with the latest Google search redesign (the icons on the centre left). I hope Google’s pushing out some huge re-brand across the board.

@Jack – Are you still seeing the new icon? It’s gone for me and the old one’s showing.. A big re-brand would be exciting!

@Chris: Just done a browser cache refresh and it’s gone! However, if you go to [http://www.google.co.uk/options/] you can see the new icons in use. They’re all following the style of the new sprites used in the Google search [http://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/nav_logo14.png]

    Good times!

@Jack: Just like you said, we can see it on [http://www.google.co.uk/options/], but still, I see the new blue one as my favicon! I hope it will stay there, because I don’t like the look of the white/blue/red one.

    Nice!
