So today was officially my first day back at work in 2012 and it went a lot smoother than I had imagined. I started off the day by heading into work earlier than usual as I wanted to clock out a bit earlier so I could go through to town to meet a friend for a drink – it worked out really nicely and I’m hoping to shift my work hours from 09h30 – 18h00 to 08h30 to 17h00, especially during the summer months at least.
Started off the day capturing minutes to a meeting we had on Friday and commenced with working full speed ahead to nail my items on the list with the aim of leaving myself a few hours to deal with other matters that needed attention; believe it or not, I finished off the day with zero inbox, which was a great feeling.
During the course of the day I found a couple useful articles I wanted to share:
- What does retina display on desktops and laptops mean for developers
- 25 clever ideas to make your life easier
- Why 2012 will be the year of content marketing?
- Cape Town’s very own stompie-line!
- 6 mobile search engine optimization trends for 2012
In other news Fe and I have ordered Urban Khana (meals on wheels style) for the next few weeks as we’ve both got incredibly busy schedules and shopping/cooking just end up taking too much time. We had our first meal this evening and it was delicious – the standard’s been set high, I look forward to tomorrow’s meal.

So, good day all in all, the only thing I didn’t do was exercise, oops!

Thanks, Urban Khana worth it?
Hi Khalil,
My fiance and I ordered it for 3 weeks starting on Monday this week. We’ve had 4 meals, 3 of them were absolutely delicious and I had two helpings, the other wasn’t really my cup of tea, but I ate it without complaints. Based on that, that’s quite a good track record that far. If they keep it up, it’ll be worth it financially and time wise.
You considering?
Sorry for the delay. Not considering, more analyzing the business process and model. Seems interesting. Wonder if the business is booming.
My wife wants to start something in the biscuit/baking field – just looking for unique ways to manage it.
Cheers!
Sounds like a potentially exciting venture Khalil, I wish you two all the best and hope that you find that unique way! Business has kicked in my side already in a big way, I thought things might have been quiet during January, but I was completely wrong. Then again, I always say, rather busy than bored :)
