I don’t know too much about tattoo’s, but the quality of that tattoo is quite incredible!
At the end of the day, it all comes down to the quality. Anything else is subjective! I don’t like the shading, I don’t like the composition, I don’t like the symbolism, etc etc etc.
If it what he wanted and he is happy, then awesome.
Personally, I think it’s pretty awesome, although not something that I’d have myself.
I think it’s awesome too, but like you said, I wouldn’t do it either.
An incredibly well designed and executed tattoo usually does look good, sometimes the subject matter doesn’t even count that much.
