For as long as I can remember, I’ve always lived by the motto of “hard work pays off” and that hard work has its rewards. Just like anybody else, I love a good story about someone who struck it lucky, but those are few and far between. Through my career I’ve interacted and worked with far more people who are successful because of dedication and hard work. I’m not simply referring to financial success or growing a business, I’ve many friends who’ve excelled academically and I have huge respect for them. I’m in the process of completing my degree and studying is anything but easy.

I’ve been invited to be involved in a new marketing campaign by a company called Profmed. In a nutshell, Profmed is a company that offers health care to professionals who have obtained a minimum of a four-year degree, or equivalent from a technical university.

Here’s a quick introductory video:

Profmed’s new marketing campaign is inspired by an incredible gentleman called Dr Lerothodi Leeuw who has quite an incredible story. Professor Leeuw started out milking cows in rural South Africa, his parents then sent him 200km away to go to school and after finishing school he studied at the University of Witwatersrand. He then achieved a scholarship to Phillips Academy Andover and then went on to study at the one and only, MIT. Through his study’s he’s managed to rack up a really honourable list of qualifications including a S.B. degree in physics from MIT, an M.F.A degree in creative writing from Columbia University, an M.S. degree in Astronomy from UCT and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Central Lancashire.

Professor Leeuw has now returned to South Africa to help grow the field of Astrophysics in Africa. He has an interest and passion in renewable energy and hopes to assist with the development of that in Southern Africa.

Profmed wants to reward individuals who have dedicated themselves to hard work at universities. If you’ve achieved a degree and are interested in a company that focuses on people like you, then contact Profmed today to find out more about their medical aid schemes for qualified professionals.
