WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE JSE?

Investing & Money
piece written on the 31st July 2014 by
I've read so many articles recently about the JSE and whether we're in for a collapse of the market or whether we should continue riding the wave. The opinions are incredibly mixed from those seeing similarities to the 2008 crunch to those saying quite the opposite. Today I was in a meeting and someone said that they believe it will continue to increase because the big players have too much invested to stop it fro...

PAYING OFF YOUR PROPERTY

Investing & Money
piece written on the 21st July 2014 by
Goodness me, over the past few weeks I've read more articles about property than I've ever done and it's all because there seems to be a big hype around whether your house is an asset, whether it's more of a liability than anything and whether the property market is a market that you actually want to be in. Editors across many credible websites have been arguing the points with each other and it's been a really inter...

Investing & Money
piece written on the 17th July 2014 by
I'm a huge fan of The Dragon's Den; learning about investment and pitching through Peter Jones, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and the others has been hugely interesting to say the least. I think that for me one of the best things is that it's not all about technology, which for me is a lovely change. This morning I received an email from Telkom informing me that the South African version of The Dragon's Den will b...

piece written on the 13th July 2014 by
I've been a bit quiet lately, mostly because I haven't had anything I felt was really worth sharing. However, this evening I was sent some photographs entitled, "Talented Dirty Car Art" - Normally I'd mark as spam and trash, but a photograph caught my eye and you'll see why: I did some searc...

piece written on the 1st July 2014 by
Google employee Daniel Waisberg has recently launched a new Google Chrome extension called Page Analytics. This is one of those extensions you've probably been waiting for, how often do you visit a website and wish you could get some quick statistics for the page? Sure, there are a few extensions out already that provide some insight, but this is the first one that ties directly into Google Analytics. I guess I shoul...

This is a topic that I'm by no means an expert on, but I wanted to share a recent experience with all of you because perhaps you'll learn something or save some money. We're actively hiring at iMod Digital and decided to try out some of the job recruiting websites to see what the response would be like. There are quite a few, but we narrowed it down to ...

UP IN ARMS OVER FNBS BANK CHARGES

Investing & Money
piece written on the 10th June 2014 by
There's been a huge amount of buzz lately on the Internet about bank charges. This all started last week when everyone received FNB's revised fee structure and realised that there were a number of changes that are going to see us paying more bank charges than ever before. In a world where technology is the driving force, one would have hoped that efficiencies through technology would assist with reducing the costs no...
