Draw Something takes place within an application on either iOS or Android devices. In fact, the game proved to be so popular, with over 35 million downloads in the first six weeks alone. Zynga, the creators of Farmville on Facebook, couldn’t ignore the app’s phenomenal success and bought the game for $180 million.

The game is all about social gaming. You can either sign up with Facebook or email, with the former being the better choice, as it connects to the social network and helps you find your friends. There is even an option to play a game with a random user, which is also pretty cool. Even though you’re continents apart, you get to connect with friends and laugh at the drawings that are produced between the two of you. You also get to watch your opponent guess what you drew.

Some players take the game very seriously and they take their time in creating their masterpieces, many of which can be found on the Internet. The reason being, that unlike Pictionary, you don’t have a time limit, and you can add as much detail as you can, within the limits of drawing on a touch screen.

The game is plenty fun, and if you’re not sure whether you should buy the game, take the free version for a spin. The free version has ads and limits you to a certain amount of words. The full version removes the ads, adds more words and gives you some coins that you can use to buy some more colour palettes, as the palette with primary colours is free, but you need to buy more palettes with coins earned from games. There also appears to be a glitch in the game, only allowing you to play 99 turns. I started with the free version, but the ads are getting a bit much for me, I think I will be switching over to the paid verison soon.

All in all, it’s a fun, addictive game that you’ll be playing with many of your friends at the same time. The iOS versions are universal, allowing you to play on either your iPad or iPhone, with the drawing being much easier on the former device.

Because, you see, your little clay creatures can roll up and turn into a block of stone anywhere in the level, whenever you please. You can turn them into stepping stones, or staircases, or whatever you need to do to make it to the end of the level.
