Tetris is without a doubt one of the most famous video games in the world. Tetris was created by computer engineer Alexey Pajitnov and was first released in 1984. Pajitnov named the game after the number of square blocks that make up every tetronimo tetris block, and his favourite sport, tennis.

Aside from many licenced variations of the game, there are also a great deal of creative fan-made tetris variations. Some very closely resemble the original, but many others are funny and/or parodyeditions, and cater to common Tetris frustrations, such as that long I block you desperately need never appearing when you need it.

Goime 500 is a fun puzzle game in which you have to carry out 500 simple tasks or achievements. There’s a list of everything you need to do, if only you can make sense of the hints hidden in the titles of every achievement…

500 tasks may seem like a great many, but most of these are easily achieved. Just staying alive or taking your first jump can cross an achievement off your extensive list, and these little things begin to add up fast. However, some achievements will require a bit of dexterity to complete, such as a timed race. Others will take a little bit of thought, such as taking a silly quiz, solving a maths puzzle, or just figuring out the achievement hints and how to use your ghost powers…

There are also a number of mini games in the arcade zone, such as Space Invaders and Pong, which you can try to win (or lose!) as part of your set of tasks. Collect the coins and buy useful items. In Kaboomz 3 you have to use your cannon to shoot all of the balloons and pop them. Aim carefully and hit them with your cannonballs. Not all balloons can be popped however. Sometimes they will be outside of your cannon’s range, so you will have to work around that problem by shooting at other things lying around in the level.

Other types of balloons can resist the force of your cannonballs, and so you will have to find other, creative ways to pop them. Use rolling barrels, traps, spikes, morning stars, and explosive balloons to blow up every balloon in all of the levels. There are many different levels with all kinds of fun layouts to play. Can you figure out how to solve every single one?

This week we’ve added a lot of Spot-the-Differences games at Games.co.za. Examine the two pictures closely. They may seem identical on first glance, but one of the images features a number of subtle edits. Shapes may have been lengthened or shortened, little objects removed, colours changed, or a distant tree may have been displaced. Do you see it?

Can you see in what ways the picture has been subtly edited? Most of the time there are five things which have been changed in every set of pictures, and sometimes a timer will be running. Can you find all the differences before your time is up? Most games also feature a limited amount of hints. Stuck and out of time? Try using one of the hints to get through the level.

In Iveco Magirus Fire Trucks you get to command a big team of specialized fire trucks. Deploy the right team as quick as you can when there’s a fire anywhere in town. But putting out fires isn’t your only challenge in this game. You will also need to mobilize your team in case of traffic accidents, as well as save a skater who has had an accident on the ice.

Pick the right trucks to send out, and one your get to the scene of the accident or fire, make sure all your firemen and firewomen carry out their tasks properly. Connect the trucks to the hydrant, choose the right nozzles, and direct the jets of water. Roll out the ladders and send out the rescue boat.

I bought an iPad 2 recently and I’ve used it as a business tool up until today when I came across Mobcrete’s Pucca’s Restaurant. Pucca’s Restaurant is a game which essentially has you running your own restaurant. You cook meals, your staff serve customers and you upgrade the restaurant as you go – remember Sim City and those other games where you built your city? Well, it’s not exactly like that, but it paints the picture enough to pass the point across.

I downloaded the game from the iStore this morning and I’ve been playing non-stop since then – the best part is that the game is real-time, so if you select to prepare a meal in the game that says “4 hours to make,”, then you’ll actually have to wait 4 hours, and the application runs in the background on the iPad, so setup your things, head out and do your shopping and get back to some lovely upgrades!

After doing a little research around the game, I was blown away by the following – The game allows you to create an account, challenge friends and share your progress with others easily on social networks, so there’s the whole competition and real-life element built into it which is clearly working and making is a brilliant game. The freemium model is really effective, inside the game there are tokens called Garu’s, you can earn them, but you can also purchase them with real money, along with a number of other things and because the game’s become to popular and wide-spread, I have no doubt that CEO @WooSangJun is sitting nice and pretty!

In Danger Dungeon you were out exploring a mysterious ruin with some buddies, and now your friends have been kidnapped by monsters! Search the different levels of the dungeon and rescue your friends from the warlocks, minotaurs, hell hounds and other monsters.
