Usher tour to South Africa

Yeeeah man, haha, Usher Raymond will be heading to South Africa next year to perform at the Hansa Festival of Legends tour!

Usher will perform at the Grand Arena in Cape Town on 3 March, the ICC Durban Arena on 7 March and at Soweto’s Orlando Stadium on 10 March.
This is pretty massive if you ask me, South Africa’s seen some great artists over the past year, but Usher is a powerhouse, one of the biggest legends in the pop scene and someone who can perform incredibly well on a stage, I can only imagine how quickly the tickets will sell.

I went to Craig David a few years ago and that wasn’t very good, but I think Usher’s on a completely different level, so if you had a bad experience like me, I don’t think you need to worry about it this time!

Tickets go on sale on 4 November at Computicket.

Red Hot Chili Peppers in South Africa?

This is quite exciting, there’s a new website out which has a poll where you suggest the city Red Hot Chili Peppers should visit. In other words, if you want them to come to Cape Town, then you head on over to the website and say exactly that!

Obviously, each vote counts and the important thing here is to spread the word, so make use of the Tweet and Like buttons on this post to share the information with all your friends.

We have a massive online community in South Africa, let’s make use of it and bring the Peppers to South Africa!

Lil Wayne in South Africa

This isn’t the freshest news, but is worth a mention as Lil Wayne is a legend in the Hip Hop world and he’s bring his I Am Still Music Tour to South Africa to take on three concerts at The Belville Velodrome, The Coca-Cola Dome and The Wave House.

We’ve seen hip hop artists come to South Africa before and some would argue that 50 Cent might be more popular, but I’m my opinion, Lil Wayne’s far more experienced and praised.

The events take place between Wed 7 December and Sun 11 December and tickets are going for between R350 and R600. There are still tickets available, so if you’re amped for some incredible hip hop, then head over to computicket and book now!

I’ll leave you with this video that has over 30 million views:

MPI Project – Empire X

So the other day I posted some banging dubstep tracks that I’d found across the Internet and now I’ve found a sick track! This is one of the funnest tracks I’ve heard in a while, not necessarily the best dubstep, but definitely worth cranking once or twice.

Say a big hello to MPI Project, you’re going to want to turn your bass up for this one:

Some more dubstep vibes

I’ve covered dubstep quite often on iMod. I’ve always been a fan of deep beats and when they throw the deep beats in with an ambient synth and some vocals, then I really get pumped up. Anyway, I spent some time looking for some cool tracks to share with all of you.

Check Skrillex jamming:

If you don’t know Skrillex, then I reckon spend some time Googling and listening to his stuff, you’ll probably click when you see he’s signed to Mau5trap (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skrillex).

More dub step stuff:

Coldplay – Paradise

I’m absolutely loving the new Coldplay track, Paradise! I’m not the only one either, thousands and thousands of tweets and Facebook status updates show a great positive trend.

Taken from the new album, Mylo Xyloto, out 24 October. This video was directed by Mat Whitecross in 2011 and was filmed in South Africa and London.

Truth about Locnville’s Sun in my Pocket production

Locnville hit the scene not too long ago and have made huge success with their electronic music. They’ve recently appeared on SA Idols and have a huge following in South Africa, and personally I think they’re pretty cool brothers and there’s music’s quite decent – there are one or two that I’ll happily rock out to.

When Sun in my Pocket was released, it was available as a music download and it was said that Wez Clarke did the production and all the work, but this wasn’t actually the case and the Locnville Wiki Page has now been updated to reflect the truth:

Avril Lavigne – Wish you were here

Earlier today I posted a video by Rihanna which features Avril and I mentioned not hearing about Avril much lately and thankfully a friend left a comment alerting me to the launch of Avril’s new album, Goodbye Lullabye.

Here’s the cover track from the new CD, which was announced yesterday: Continue reading →

Rihanna – Cheers (drink to that) ft Avril Lavigne

I’m not the hugest Rihanna fan, but I have to admit, this is a banging feel good track that’s essential for the car! Picture yourself getting into the car on a cold, wet and rainy day like today and pumping this track up to full blast – yeh, you know what I’m talking about don’t ya ;)

Cool to see Avril popping up too, it’s been a while since I heard about her.

New Sum 41 Song – Baby you don’t wanna know

Sum 41 have just released a new tune, Baby you don’t wanna know, which is licensed to the Island Def Jam Music Group and appears to be getting a lot of coverage at the moment. The video has already been viewed over 250,000 times!

I’m not the biggest Sum 41 fan, but I can appreciate a good song and this is definitely a good one!
