MAKE WOOLWORTHS YOUR FASHION DESTINATION FOR WINTER 2011

March 2011 – Winter 2011 will see Woolworths continuing to offer South African women great, on-trend seasonal fashion looks and key items at excellent value.

“Our customers have let us know that they look forward to our key fashion items and rely on us to help them understand how to put together the key looks for the season,” says Woolworths head of womenswear, Trevor Perren. “For Winter, they can look forward to a great ‘Fashion10’ of the top ten key fashion items including military-inspired coats and jackets, jeggings and treggings, and fabulous boots.”

Perren adds, “Woolworths also has a reputation as the destination for Winter knitwear, and this season will be no exception. As South Africa’s knitwear headquarters, Woolies will have something for everyone, from easy-care knits to beautiful cashmere blends at surprisingly affordable prices.”

“We will also be focusing on growing other categories that we are becoming famous for, including footwear, jeans, leggings and accessories as well as lingerie, where we will continue to build on the back of a very successful launch of our somewhat provocative new lingerie range, Distraction.”

Value, as always, remains a critical focus for Woolworths. “Our Great Value strategy has been, and continues to be, enormously successful, and our customers keep coming back for the Woolworths quality they love at superb prices. They’ve loved our tees and jeans this summer, and we believe Winter will live up to the same promise,” concludes Perren.

Right now I wish I was… Blake Lively

Seriously, how hot is Blake lively right now? Not only is she in one of the most awesome TV shows, Gossip Girl, but…

She goes out to fancy events looking like this…

She wears gorgeous, sparkly Chanel dresses like this one…

AND she just became the face of Chanels Mademoiselle bag line…

….I want to hate her…but I can’t stop loving her right now.

50% off wall vinyls in South Africa

The other day I blogged about some awesome retro wall vinyls and a few years ago I already started saying how wall vinyling would be massive and it would appear that it’s starting to leak into South Africa from Europe. I spotted a great deal today, where you get 50% off all wall vinyls!

Here is an example:

There are all sorts of styles available, not just floral ones, so do head on over and take a look.

Shopping spotlight: Diligo

For those of you who don’t already know, Diligo is a new South African online clothing  shop. The store currently stocks only ladies fashion and accessories, but soon they will have men’s clothing too. Their prices are very reasonable and their range is great.

To check out all the pretty things available trot over HERE – Happy shopping!

NOTE: You can save 15% on your Diligo purchase buy using the code: BRAZEN1 at checkout.

Awesome retro geeky wallpaper stickers

I came across some awesome wallpaper stickers today and really wanted to order a set, but it seems as though the item is sold out already :( Anyway, I’m sure they’ll get more stock, so here are two sample photographs:

The good news is that there are some other designs that still have stock, so if you are interested, click here and have a look through the options. Wall art is hugely popular overseas and especially in office spaces, but not so much in South Africa. Go on, be the first, set a trend!

Fashion favourites: the Oscars

The 83rd Academy Awards happened last night in Los Angeles and, as always, there was so many gorgeous dresses (& celebs) to look at on the red carpet.

After a lot of thought, here are my 6 favourite Oscar outfits:

  1. Penelope Cruz was sexy in a sequined L’Wren Scott gown with a plunging neckline.
  2. Mila Kunis looked amazing in a lacey, lavender Elie Saab gown
  3. Natalie Portman, who won the best actress oscar and is currenly preggers, looked stunning in a plum gown by Rodarte.
  4. Anne Hathaway was striking in a red, poufy-backed vintage Valentino gown.
  5. Mandy Moore sparkled in a Monique Lhuillier gown
  6. True Grit star, Hailee Steinfeld looked like a little princess in her Marchesa dress

Stuffed hamburger press

I came across this beauty whilst looking for cool kitchen toys and I had to share it as I think it’s a really clever idea:

These babies go for just $12, but when trying to visit the online shop, I received an error. You can try yourself though.

Heart Truth Red Dress Show

On Wednesday night (9 Feb) celebs kicked off New York Fashion week with the Heart Truth Red Dress Show. The fashion show was to raise awareness for the foundation that spreads information about heart disease for women in USA.

Since I really loved so many of the pretty red dresses on the runway,  I thought I would share a few of my favourite red dresses from the event:

1. Dita Von Teese in a cutom Zac Posen dress

2. Brazilian model Camila Alves in a dress by Kaufman Franco

3.Alison Sweeney wore a silk cocktail dress by Tadashi Shoji

4.Natasha Bedingfield wore a gorgeous red Nicole Miller gown

5. Katrina Bowden in an Oscar de la Renta dress

How perfect would some of these dresses be to wear for a swanky valentines night out?

Magnetic cloud keyholder

Duncan Shotten has just launched another one of his brilliant designs, the magnetic could keyholder:

Awesome design don’t you think? I would really like one, but unfortunately only 150 are being produced in the first batch and they’re available at a fair in Stockholm, so I won’t be getting one any time soon.

Here’s to hoping they mass produce and give us the opportunity to buy them online :)
