Best advert I’ve seen: Omo

On Friday night whilst having drinks, surfing the Internet and looking for brilliant content, the Omo advert came up in discussion and I’ve been laughing ever since. Don’t you think that this is one of the best adverts you’ve ever seen:

I’ve laughed and laughed and laughed. Priceless.

Whilst we’re on the topic of awesome videos, check out Kitty Corliss, Grinding the Crack:

Inspired by Jeb Corliss obviously. Btw, that’s AWOLNATION – Sail, lyrics here.

Everyday Awesomeness-viola player rocks the Nokia ringtone

This awesome response of Slovakian viola player, Lukas Kmit, to a ringing cell phone during his recital has been doing the rounds. If you’ve ever been interrupted by a noisy, inappropriate cell phone during a movie, performance or presentation, enjoy…

Voice controlled TVs are finally here, Apple didn’t win the race!

Has Vlingo beaten Siri to it?

By now most people have heard about Siri, Apple’s mobile voice assistant. With the technology that Siri brought to the table, Steve Jobs said that he’d “cracked” the code for TVs, in the sense that a TV (read: Apple TV) would soon be controlled by voice.

Well, that was looking great until Vlingo stepped in; Vlingo is a virtual assistant that turns your voice into words and applies to the mobile smart phone industry. Here are three videos to bring you up to speed:

So it’s quite obvious that Vlingo is somewhat like Siri, but the problem here, for Apple and Apple fans, is that it looks like Vlingo has beaten Apple to the button with the voice television! About a week ago Vlindo announced at CES 2012 that it’s virtual assistant for Smart TVs is available, here’s a video example of what they’re doing:

Then just two days later Vlingo was featured on CNET, take a watch:

Pretty damn awesome! I still believe that Apple will release this technology very soon and I have no doubt that their solution will be seamless and beautiful like all their other software!

Skateboard controlled by xBox

Yesterday afternoon I spent some time figuring out how I could connect my external hard drives to my television and control what I wanted to watch without getting off my butt. Good news is that I found a really great solution – Hard drives connected to a hub connected to Airport Extreme. Macbook wirelessly connecting to the hard drives, movies/series dragged into Fuze, Fuze connected to the xBox and an xBox controller used to play/pause/stop movies/series – really awesome solutions, big thanks to Brendon and Andre for their insight into this mission.

Whilst searching around for some tutorials and the likes I came across this awesome innovative initiative by Chaotic Moon’s LABS. The idea is a skateboard controlled by Xbox Kinect! I won’t bore you with details, rather just take a look at this video:

Anti-drug Facebook Timeline campaign

Just over a month ago Facebook announced Timeline to the public, users could sign into their accounts and commence with setting up their timelines. I’ve been using and thoroughly enjoying timeline for a number of months now, so seeing it being rolled out to the world was quite exciting and from what I can tell, most people are hugely impressed. Of course, something new means new marketing angles and that’s exactly what this post is about.

An Israeli anti-drug authority has launched a social media campaign using Facebook Timeline as the driving force. A wonderful video has been created to showcase the usage and I’ll bet you a dollar that this very campaign will now inspire thousands of others, take a watch:

This dude gives Busta Rhymes a run!

Sheesh, we all know how darn fast Busta Rhymes can rap, but take a load of these dude letting rip:

I don’t think I could even rap that quickly on a gram of meth!

Hedley – Invincible – PhilJ Drum Cover

PhilJ Drums does a number of covers of popular songs and this is definitely one of his best ones; not only is this an awesome tune, just check his talent – throwing in his own bits and pieces here and there, brilliant.

Take a watch:

And here’s the band the plays for, After the Anthems:

Siri free flows Notorious BIG’s Hypnotize tune

Picked this up on Google Plus earlier this evening and just couldn’t not post it:
