Yahoo bats Microsoft for $44.6 billion
Internet media pioneer Yahoo said Monday that it turned down Microsoft’s unsolicited January 31 $44.6 billion Microsoft Logotakeover bid, dismissing the offer as “not in the best interests of Yahoo,” and because it “substantially undervalues” the firm. The rejection was largely anticipated, as weekend reports surfaced that Yahoo’s board of directors spurned the offer in a late Friday meeting, and leaves Microsoft to decide whether to increase its bid, stop its pursuit of the Internet’s second most popular search engine, or turn to more hostile measures to force Yahoo or its shareholders to accept a bid.

Watch these ladies shake their booties!
I think it was Beyonce who started the whole booty shaking movement and it became such a public trend when Opera once attempted to shake hers on her show. Since then, it’s become something which has rapidly spread the universe, so fast and hard that now even Youtube boosts videos out girls girls shaking their butts!
I must admit, the video is great, I had a good laugh, but I also enjoyed some of the girls who could actually move their butts in time to the music!
A movie which sounds interesting – The Mist
A movie I stumbled across, which sounds rather interesting is ‘The Mist‘. I’ve not watched it yet, but should have done so by the end of the weekend. It received a pretty strong IMBD rating, which is normally accurate.
Here’s a review:
After a violent storm attacks a town in Maine, an approaching cloud of mist appears the next morning. As the mist quickly envelops the area, a group of people get trapped in a local grocery store -among them, artist David Drayton and his five-year-old son. The people soon discover that within the mist lives numerous species of horrific, unworldly creatures that entered through an inter-dimensional rift, which may or may not have been caused by a nearby military base. As the world around them manifests into a literal hell-on-earth, the horrified citizens try desperately to survive this apocalyptic disaster.

Every instinct of the contrary had simply been a denial of the simple truth
I just watched the latest episode of One Tree Hill and I was blown away. I’ve always been a massive fan of these soppy post teen television series. I must admit, there was one specific scene, which had some of the most amazing dialog I have ever heard!
Suddenly, it was if the roar of the crowd, the echo of the final buzzer, the cheers of my team mates where all sounding from a thousands miles away. And what remained in that bizzare, muffled silence, was only Payton. the girls whose art and passion and beauty had changed my life. In that moment, my triumph was not a state championship, but simple clarity, the realisation that we had always been there for each other and every instinct of the contrary had simply been a denial of the following truth. I was now and would always be, in love with Payton Sawyer.
The dialog opened something inside me. I know it sounds silly and perhaps lame, but this is my blog and I’m entitled to write about what I choose :P

Google CEO tells us about Web 3.0
His prediction is that Web 3.0 will ultimately be seen as “applications that are pieced together”. And there are a number of characteristics:
- The applications are relatively small
- The data is in the cloud
- The applications can run on any device (PC or Mobile Phone)
- The applications are very fast
- They’re very customizable
- And, importantly, they’re distributed virally, through social-networks, email, and recommendations online.

Paul Van Dyk world tour in Cape Town soon!
News is out that legendary DJ Paul Van Dyk will be gracing Cape Town with his presence in the near future, 7 March to be exact! From what I can tell, he will be playing at 10pm at Atmosphere, which is a fairly decent venue in fact!
Out of all the DJs to watch, I’d say that Paul would be one of the best! I don’t know if I’m going to be able to make this event, but I’m going to do next to anything to make it! There are so many International acts coming to Cape Town this year already: Celine Dion, James Blunt, The Eagles and now Paul Van Dyk – you gota love it! For those of you who are uncertain as to who Paul is (impossible), then here’s probably his most well known and one of his best songs – For an angel:
